A Few Of Our Favorite Things vol. 1

I'm so glad this was the most voted blog topic on our Instagram! I've been looking for an excuse to highlight some of our favorite equestrian brands, products, horsey movies and books, and just general equestrian lifestyle favorites/finds, and I think this is the perfect way!

I'll likely turn this into a series with a few items apiece, so be sure to stay tuned for future installments!

The Horse in The Grey Flannel Suit

I'm going to kick it off with a movie I first saw on a rainy day at horse camp, probably 20-25 years ago. I loved it so much, I ended up scouring the internet for a movie poster to hang in my room, and looking everywhere for the book the movie is based off of (still haven't found it!).

Featuring some classic equestrian themes including non horsey dad, horse crazed teen girl, and underdog at a major horse show, this one is always a fun, relaxing watch for me!

Grey Horse Candle Company

I am nothing short of obsessed with these candles. I bought my first one last fall and have since tried five or six different scents, and I love each one! I always have one on my desk in my office (next to my lucky pumpkin, which, yes, stays out year round), and in our living room.

My top three favorite scents (so far) are Headless Horseman, Carriage Ride, and Barn Family. The first two are so perfect for my favorite seasons of the year (fall and winter), I am hoping they are back again this year!

A Favorite Photo

I'm still decorating my new office, but this photo has been in every version of my Horseplay office (you may have seen it on our Instagram before!), and before that my bedroom. Naturally, it was one of the first things to re-enter the office once we painted. It's a picture of my Grammy, who gifted me her horse girl (and artsy) genes.

Growing up, I loved hearing stories of her pony, Prince (pictured), her Thoroughbred, John Boy, and her brother's albino circus horse, Martha Washington.

She found the property she wanted to build her house on while riding through the woods, and you better believe she accomplished it. I like starting the work day looking at her picture and asking what we will do today.

Thanks for reading the first entry of this series, I'm looking forward to sharing more of my favorite horse girl life things with you!
