Ambassador Interviews: Hanna on Preparing for College and Beyond!

Hanna joined our team from our home state of NY! Hanna competes on the A & AA circuit, as well as helping her mom run their farm!

Horseplay: Your mom owns the beautiful Old Dalton Farm in NY. What is your favorite part about helping your mom with the farm?

Hanna: My favorite part of helping my mom is getting to learn everything she has to teach me. My mom has so much experience in the industry and I love being able to learn from her and her experiences. I am also so grateful for all the opportunities. I get so many opportunities and I couldn't thank her enough. I also love getting the taste of teaching and coaching, it's one of my favorite things to do and I couldn't have done it without her help!

Horseplay: Do you think you'll follow in your mom's footsteps and stay in the industry when you're older?

Hanna: I would love to stay in the industry and follow in her footsteps. Like my mom, I want to attend college before going right into the business and then eventually go back into horses full time

Horseplay: Do you have any schools on your radar yet?

Hanna: My dream school is NYU, but I also like Boston University and UCONN

Horseplay: You would be closer to us at NYU! Those are all great schools, is there anything in particular you're thinking of majoring in?

Hanna: Definitely some sort of business major, but more specifically marketing

Horseplay: You would be great at marketing! What are your riding goals before college?

Hanna: My riding goal before college is to honestly just have fun and make the most out of the rest of my junior years. I would also like to finish out my last two years of IEA by going to Nationals, but that is a high goal. It's my first year in the Open Division, and I know how hard the competition is, so fingers crossed for this season.

Horseplay: Do you have any tips for keeping calm before your rounds?

Hanna: For me I try to think more about what could go right rather than wrong. I

always visualize the perfect round with perfect distances in my head and I try to talk about all the possible problems that could arise with my trainer.

Thanks for taking time to chat with us, Hanna! We can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
