A Brief Horseplay History!
We've come such a long way since our launch in 2011!
Horseplay was created by a riding instructor with a flare art & creativity, and a talented graphic designer who is also a screen printer. We pooled our creativity and created a logo and a few simple designs (these pics are some examples of our earliest work), with the intent of Horseplay being a side job or hobby. We started by setting up a table at a horse show and sold out of most sizes and styles. After that, we restocked, did another event, and another, and eventually opened up an online store. We eventually became busy enough that we reinvested in the business and bought some more silkscreen equipment and expanded the shop a bit!
In 2012 our shop, located on Long Island, was wiped out by Hurricane Sandy. Luckily for us, the majority of our equipment was saved, but we had to move. With Long Island being out of power for more than two weeks, and gas being difficult to come by, we couldn't get a new shop up and running for a while. We spent the first half of 2013 planning and organizing and returned with our Fall 2013 line.
Since then, we have continued to expand our shop as well as our client base, we've added amazing ambassadors to our team, and are continuing to add new, fun products every season. We are thrilled to be continuing to learn and grow with all of you right here beside us!
